About John Gately
John Gately serves as the Republican Precinct Chair for Precinct 338 in Williamson County, representing voters within his precinct in Round Rock. He is committed to strengthening the community through responsible leadership, transparency, and active engagement with his neighbors.
With a professional background in technology and leadership, John has spent years working in software development, cybersecurity, and systems management. He has led teams responsible for building and maintaining critical systems, with a focus on efficiency, security, and long-term sustainability.
John also has a long history of public service through his involvement with the Texas State Guard, where he has supported operations, communications, and technical initiatives in various leadership roles. As part of that work, John and his team were recognized with Best in Texas Awards in 2018, 2019, and 2020. These experiences have helped shape his approach to teamwork, accountability, and mission-focused execution.
In addition to his public service, John is actively involved in nonprofit leadership, overseeing two 501(c)(3) organizations. He has also played a key role in organizing and supporting community toy drives that have helped provide more than $7.5 million worth of toys to children and families in need—demonstrating his deep commitment to giving back and strengthening the community.
At his core, John is a fiscal constitutionalist who believes that our rights are given by God—not by government—and must be protected accordingly. Having taken multiple oaths of service throughout his life, he holds a deep and enduring respect for the principles and protections outlined in the United States Constitution.
John is continuing his education in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning through the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin.
